Wizz Air Cancels Abu Dhabi and Dubai Flights for the 2026/27 Winter Season

Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has canceled all planned flights to Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the 2026/27 winter season due to ongoing conflicts and airspace restrictions in the Middle East. The decision covers flights scheduled between October 25, 2026, and March 27, 2027.

The airline stated that regional airspace restrictions, extended on September 30, have significantly increased flight distances, resulting in longer flight times and higher operating costs. Wizz Air noted that operating these routes with Airbus A321neo and A321XLR aircraft is no longer economically viable under the current conditions.

Wizz Air’s flights to Amman, Jordan, have also been affected by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) recommendation to avoid operating in Jordanian airspace. The airline said it would continue monitoring developments and reassess its operations in line with airspace restrictions and aviation safety assessments.
